John Ignatius McCaul passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was 91 years old. John was the beloved husband of Kathleen Cassidy McCaul for 44 years, upon her passing in 2005. Blessed in love a second time, John is survived by his fiancé, Theresa O'Reilly Crouch.

John was a gentleman who brought joy and laughter to all who had the pleasure of his company. He often said his greatest accomplishment was his family and that he was a "multi-millionaire" because if it. There was always a smile in his beautiful blue eyes, but they were electric when he saw his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. Pop was fiercely loved in return. An immigrant, John deeply loved and appreciated his adopted land for the opportunities it afforded, making friends wherever he traveled. Those friends also learned of both his incredible work ethic and his pride in his homeland, as they never left him. He cherished the family and Irish community he found in Philadelphia, joining so many of his life-long friends in membership to the Donegal Association of Philadelphia. He was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Danny Browne Division 80.
John is survived by his children, Theresa, Bernadette (Bryan), Mary (Jim), Dermot (Beth); treasured grandchildren, Caitlyn, Eilish, Marissa, Cameron, Brendan, Fiona and Tegan; siblings in Ireland, Fr. Dermot McCaul, Maeve McCaul, Dolores Kelly, Colette Brannigan and in the USA, Brian McCaul; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family members.
