Born March 2, 1946, in Greenville, SC. John was the son of the late John H. McWhite, Sr. and the late Sarah Hunter McWhite. Mr. John McWhite was a US AirForce Veteran having served during Vietnam, and was retired from BASF Corp. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Suzanne Rice McWhite, his children: Todd Allen McWhite (Anna) and Jennifer Clinkscales (Brian); grandchildren: Garrett McWhite (Paige), Kathryn Maney (Tyler), and Abigail and Madison Clinkscales; great grandchildren: Drake and Adrian McWhite; and sisters, Rebecca M. McDonald, and Pamela M. Owens.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 9 from 2 until 3 p.m. at Sullivan-King Mortuary, where the service will be held at 3 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Regency Hospital, 2000 East Greenville Street, 2nd Floor, Anderson, SC 29621.

Thank you for allowing me to take care of this sweet man. I grew to love him and you the family. My prayers are with you in the upcoming days. When I walk by room 12 I think of him each time. Lots of love to all.
