John E. Metzger, age 77, passed away June 17, 2022. John was a devoted husband to his wife, Karen (nee Kozak) of 53 years; a wonderful father to Deana (Tom) and Doreen (Tim); loving grandfather to Danielle, Devin, Justin, and Jonathan; son of Elmer and Helen (both deceased); brother of Patricia, Robert, and Teresa (deceased); uncle and friend to many.
John was the proud and successful owner of D & D Custom Windows for 25 years, naming the company after his two daughters. He proudly represented the Army for two years while serving as a Military Police Officer in Vietnam. John devoted his retirement years to Veteran recognition. He was also awarded Citizen of the Month from the City of Parma. He enjoyed going on cruises, fishing, sports, gardening, casino trips, collecting shells in Naples, and making lasting memories with his grandchildren. John was always ready to lend a helping hand to others and share a story through his gift of gab. John always said, "When you see a Veteran, always thank them for their service." He was just an amazing man, eager to make friends and please everyone!
