Judge John D. Miller, 93, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation. He was born October 31, 1932 in Newman, Kentucky to the late Henry J. Miller and Clara Josephine Wheatley Miller. Judge Miller graduated from the University of Kentucky Law School in 1958. He served on the Kentucky Court of Appeals for 20 years, was a member of the 1966 House of Representatives and was an Owensboro City Commissioner in the 1970's.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 10 siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shelia Ann Miller; brother, Herman Miller (Martha); several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and a host of good friends.
In keeping with Judge Miller's wishes, there will be no service or visitation.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Daviess County Law Library, Daviess County Judicial Center, 100 E. 2nd Street, Owensboro, KY 42301, The Goodfellows Club of Owensboro, 401 Frederica Street, B203, Owensboro, KY 42301 or Help Office, 1316 W. 4th Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
