John Howard Milton

John Howard Milton, 62, died January 1, 2026, at the VA Hospital in Jackson, MS. John was born June 20, 1963, in Natchez, MS. He is a graduate of South Natchez Adams High School where he was a big part of the drumline in the SNAHS band. He graduated Co-Lin Junior College and later received his bachelor's degree with a major in English Literature. John joined the United States Marine Corps in September 1983 and served 7 years where he achieved the rank of Seargent.
John was passionate about many things including photography, reading, music, cooking and of course his love of the Corps. Many friends have reached out from high school, college, work, Marines he served with and friends abroad sharing the impact John had on their lives and sharing stories and pictures.
John is survived by his father, James Milton and wife Rowan of Natchez, MS, his mother, Catherine Lyle of Brandon, MS, his brother David Milton of Natchez, MS, his sister Kelly Wilson (Jimmy) of Pell City, AL. Stepsisters and stepbrothers -Betsy Mosby (Sim) of Natchez, Rebecca Grantham (Mike) of Ferriday, Anna Sandel (Matthew) of Saucier, Bill Lyle (Cherri) of Missouri, Bob Lyle (Candy) of Louisiana, Ron Lyle (Marsha) of Indiana. Nieces and nephews – Caissie Pavlu (Ryan), Drew Wilson and Nick Wilson.
The family will have a celebration of life in Natchez this spring.
