John Minorini Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 12, 2026.
John R. Minorini, a lifelong resident of Highwood, Illinois, passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 72.

Born on July 2, 1953, John was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Rosina (née Sassorossi) Minorini.

He is survived by his loving brothers, Ted (Jeanne) Minorini and Joe (Vicki) Minorini; his cherished niece, Francesca; his nephew, Christopher; and his beloved four-legged companion, Max.

John was known by many as a generous soul and a loyal friend who was always willing to lend a hand. He built a respected career in masonry, ultimately becoming an owner of The Caesar Fiocchi Company. Through years of dedication to his craft, he became an award-winning mason contractor, admired for his exceptional skill and passion for his work.

Outside of his career, John embraced life with enthusiasm. He was a proud Harley-Davidson enthusiast, a devoted lover of German Shepherds, and a passionate supporter of local causes in the Highwood community. For many years, he brought smiles and excitement to local events at Toadstool Pub by supplying the giant "monster pumpkin," helping raise money for community causes, and bringing people together for a good time.

Above all, he treasured his family and friends. John will be remembered for his kindness, his strong work ethic, and the lasting impact he made on the community and the people he loved so deeply. The marks he left through his larger-than-life personality and generosity will remain for many years to come.

He will be forever missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation for John will be held on Thursday, March 19, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Road, Highland Park, Illinois 60035. A prayer service will be held the same day at 1:00 p.m.
