John Charles Moore, 81, of Pocomoke, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

John was the beloved husband of Lynda Moore, the love of his life and partner of 45 years. He was a devoted father to Chuck Robbins (Brittney Parks), Katie Moore, and Rebecca Moore (Bradley Alexander Sr.). His greatest joy came from being a grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his grandchildren: Kenna Fetterman (Alisha Luchka), Bradley Alexander Jr., Gabriel Jackson, Charles Moore, Adalyn Meadows, John Jackson, Brinley Meadows, Stella Jackson, Lilly Jackson, and Jonah Alexander. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Savanna, Fiora, and Nathan Gonzalez.

John was predeceased by his granddaughter, Nikki Fetterman (Jon Gonzalez).

Professionally, John retired as an electronic technician with NOAA, and he also spent part of his life as an independent truck driver. He was a man of many skills-a blacksmith, an electronic engineering graduate, and a certified heavy equipment operator.

John was a traveler at heart, with a restless spirit and an open road ahead of him. He crossed the country multiple times, whether by motorcycle or hitchhiking, always chasing freedom and new stories. He loved his Harley-Davidson and the independence it represented.

John never met a stranger-he loved to talk and had a personality that was truly one of a kind. His greatest passion was his grandchildren, who brought endless joy and purpose to his life.

A graveside service will be held on September 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM, at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, MD.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to support his grandchildren's college funds-an investment John deeply believed in.

He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. I worked many years with John at the NOAA Station. One night we were talking about our families, and John said, "If I could do it all over again, I would in a heartbeat...and I wouldn't change a thing." Such was his love for you.
