John Franklin Morgan, affectionately known to all as "Frank," age 80, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, in Southaven, MS. Frank was known for his warmth, honesty, and his familiar phrase, often said with a smirk, "And I'll be frank with you."

A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m., all at Hope Chapel (8161 Germantown Road, Olive Branch, MS 38654). Bro. Ryan Vanderford will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements.

Frank was a devoted and faithful member of Hope Chapel in Olive Branch, where he served tirelessly and was affectionately known for "keeping the pastor straight." His faith guided every aspect of his life, and he often quoted, "Seek ye first," trusting others to simply watch God work.

A man of remarkable humility and an unbelievable work ethic, Frank provided faithfully for his family and his church. He was endlessly generous, always willing to help anyone in need, and his generosity truly knew no bounds. Frank's love for children and teenagers was evident through his commitment to church camps, where many were able to attend because he quietly paid their expenses.

Frank enjoyed working on antique cars, camping with his family, and had a deep passion for bluegrass music-so much so that he built and played dulcimers. He cherished family vacations, making sure his children experienced the joy of childhood through annual trips to places like Six Flags, Libertyland, and Opryland.

He was a mentor to many, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, a caring uncle, a loyal friend, and a steady presence in his church. To countless others, Frank was simply another "dad."

Frank is survived by his devoted, loving wife, Berta Faye Morgan of Southaven, MS; children, Kevin Morgan and his wife, Tracey of Southaven, Kristy Waldo and her husband Stacy of Southaven, and Connie Morgan; grandchildren, Karrah Morgan and her fiancé, Kevin Melton, Rhese Morgan and his wife, Tasha, Conner Morgan, Rhylan Morgan and his wife Kaylee, and Aaron Waldo; great-grandchildren, Hadlee Watkins, Austyn Watkins, Collier Watkins, Granger Watkins, Sawyer Melton, Laikyn Morgan, Leo Morgan, Link Morgan, Blakely Morgan, and Wrenley Morgan; siblings, Helen Wright and Ed Morgan and his wife, Sherry; along with a host of extended family, friends, and his church family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Morgan; his parents, Charles and Amanda Stroud Morgan; and his siblings, Bud Morgan, Rowdy Morgan, Betty Fry, Sharon McAvoy, and Tina Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope Chapel (8161 Germantown Road, Olive Branch, MS 38654).

When Frank took a chance on hiring me he explained that I was also joining a family. He demonstrated that many times over my 30+ year career. So much so he was not Mr. Morgan to me or my crew, we just called him "uncle Frank". Sure going to miss those post retirement random phone calls he made just to aggravate or check on me
and the family.

He sent me on my first refrigeration call. I called him all fired up because I had figured out the problem and he said " If you ever lose that feeling, find something else to do" He was instrumental in my career and I am grateful, but also he was a good man and a good friend.

Berta, Kevin, and Kristy - broke my heart to hear the news, but we all know Frank is no longer suffering and is now in the presence of God. He was a mentor to all that had the opportunity to work with him over the years at Kroger, but I also called him a friend. I will cherish all of the times we spent together and our many conversations about 'life'.

Love and prayers to you all!!!!
