Mr. John Vandiver Mouchet, 71, of Mouchet Road, Bowersville, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, GA.
Born on May 16, 1952 in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late John G. Mouchet and Bobbie Jo Bowers Mouchet. Mr. Mouchet was a cattle farmer, formerly operated Airline Store, and installed septic tanks. Mr. Mouchet was a man with many skills and talents. He was also a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church and a member of the Bowersville Masonic Lodge #595.
Survivors include his wife: Shirley McCollum Mouchet of Bowersville; daughter: Johnna Mouchet Hang (Who Hang) of Flowery Branch, GA; son-in-law: Kenny Thompson of Toccoa; brother: Steve J. Mouchet (Robin Mouchet) of Bowersville; sister: Judy Smith of Bowersville; five grandchildren: Cohen John Hang, Samantha Berryhill (Austin Berryhill), Marlee Anderson (Jacob Anderson), Brady Thompson, Cody Thompson; and three great-grandchildren: Gunter Anderson, Renn Berryhill, and Hadleigh Berryhill; two nieces and three nephews: Gina Moon (Dennis Moon), Joanna Schneider (Eric Schneider), Steven Mouchet (Ginna Mouchet), Jonathon Mouchet and Jason Marett; two great nieces and five great nephews: Alex Mouchet, Tripp Mouchet, Cash Mouchet, Samual Moon, Jacob Moon, Lainey Jo Moon and Charlie Schneider. Mr. Mouchet is preceded in death by his parents: John G. Mouchet and Bobbie Jo Bowers; daughter: Lisa Thompson; and sister & brother-in-law: Jennifer and Terrell Marett.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the Mouchet homeplace.
Funeral services for Mr. John Vandiver Mouchet will be on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Cross Roads Baptist Church with Revs. Todd Jones and Sean Payne officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will be held in the Cross Roads Baptist Church.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
