John Edward Mulvaney, Jr., 76, of Savannah passed away Monday, June 30, 2025 peacefully after a long illness. John was born July 29, 1949 in Savannah, Georgia. John attended local schools before joining the United States Navy and serving in Vietnam with the Seabees. He graduated from the University of Florida and worked briefly before joining the United States Army. John retired from the Army in 1993 as a Staff Sergeant. While stationed in Belgium, John formed several close friendships. He visited them every fall and always kept a suitcase packed and ready for his next trip. John had many help him as health deteriorated. None more so than Phyllis Hamrick and his sister-in-law Jamie.

John is survived by his mother, Eleanor Mulvaney, brothers Tom (Jamie) and Jim along with many nieces and nephews who he deeply loved. He was proceeded in death by his sister Carole and father John Edward Mulvaney, Sr.

The family will hold a graveside service on Monday July 7, 2025 in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to chapter 671 of the Vietnam Veterans of America in Savannah, Georgia.
