John David Munnell

John David Munnell, age 70, began his journey to the spirit world on August 22nd, 2023, from the Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji, Minnesota. John was born December 30th, 1952, in Cass Lake, Minnesota to Myrtle Mary (Wind) and David Robert Munnell.
John attended school in Cass Lake except for the years he participated in the Mormon Placement Program. In high school, John enjoyed playing football and wrestling. He graduated from Cass Lake High School and following that he briefly attended Brigham Young University in Utah before returning home. In John's younger years he enjoyed riding motorcycle, snowmobiling, exercising, and hanging out with his uncles. John enjoyed family gatherings in the summers. He spent most of his working years in gaming. Later he spent his time traveling around the country. John was always teasing everyone.
Preceding John in death are his parents, David and Myrtle; brother, Francis; sister, Karen; and all of his aunts and uncles.
Those left behind to cherish John's memories are his son, David; two estranged children; and many cousins.
A Celebration of Life for John will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service, all to be held at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN. Father William "Bill" Butcher will officiate. John's urn bearer is Anita Simons. Honorary urn bearers are all of John's cousins. A lunch will follow the service. Interment will be in the Old Agency Catholic Cemetery in Onigum, MN.
