John E. Neis, U.S. Navy Veteran (WWII era) passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025 at the age of 98. Beloved husband of the late Ethelreda M. Neis, nee Carey. Loving father of Gerald Neis, Joanne (Richard) Mix, Stephen Neis, and Sharon (David) Wall. Cherished grandfather of 6 and great-grandfather of 3. Dear brother of Carol Retzke and the late William Nice and Virginia MacLean. John was a devoted employee of Illinois Bell for 38 years.

Visitation Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 9:00 A.M. until time of prayers at 10:30 A.M. at the Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, to Incarnation Catholic Church, 5757 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, for an 11:00 A.M. Mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) would be appreciated. I did John & Ethelreda's taxes for many years. What a nice couple! He loved to talk about the new stock he had researched, and bought. Always had a clean Mercury, which he was proud of! Always had a smile on him! I will miss both of them.
