John “Skip” Cooper Nelson, Jr., 79, of Reading, PA passed away on August 7, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1946, Skip was the son of the late John C., Sr. and Dorothy (née Hart) Nelson.
Skip worked as a line splicer with Verizon until his retirement. He was an avid cyclist, who also enjoyed Motocross and his Corvette. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, and his 3 grand-pets. He always enjoyed a close relationship with his core group of friends, his “Biking Buddies.”
Skip was the loving father of Hilary Nelson and Sarah Busch; proud grandfather of Remington Busch “Remmi”; dear brother of Susan Barton. He is also survived by his former wife and best friend, Barbara G. (née Grick) Nelson and his companion, Jorina.
Relatives and close friends are invited to his Funeral Service 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Paoli Presbyterian Church, 225 S. Valley Road, Paoli, PA 19301. Interment Private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, www.bvspca.org.
The nightly ceremony in Washington, D.C. will be dedicated in honor of your loved one on the day of your choosing.
