John Nowell Obituary
December 15, 1946 – November 17, 2025
John Nowell, 78, of 1503 W. Gannon Ave., died Monday night at Duke Raleigh Hospital. He was the son of the late Marcus Nowell, Jr. and Norene Wilder Nowell. John worked as a retail store manager for Grant's, V.J. Elmore's, and Fred's. Additionally, he worked for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals in Raleigh until he retired.
He is survived by his son, Sean Nowell of Zebulon; daughter, Susan Nowell Willis and husband, Phillip of Statham, GA; granddaughter, Kapri of Statham, GA; sister, Nancy Bass and husband, Dallas of Castalia; and nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 24, 2025, at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Zebulon, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Tabernacle Church, (Wednesday Shut-in Meals Fund), 1599 NC 231 Wendell, NC 27591 or to Hospice of Wake County in Raleigh, NC.
