R. M. Edgerly and Son Funeral HomeJohn Ira Orrell of Tara Estates Rochester, died peacefully Friday, December 12, with is loving wife Donna at his side.
He Was Born in Saugus, Massachusetts on August 18, 1942, to Ralph and Rebecca (Foley) Orrell.
He attended school in York and Dover and graduated Dover High in 1960. He soon married his wife Donna (King) Orrell, and they celebrated 63 years of marriage this year. He worked in Construction for a few years doing some masonary work, and then began a 13 year career as a police officer For the Dover Police Department. Due to an injury, he retired the police department early and worked for Leighton Cycle in Lee. John was a hot rod enthusiast and bought and sold many classic cars throughout the years, and was a member of a classic car club. Once fully retired, He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. John was an avid sportsman and loved target shooting with his sons and his grandchildren. He also loved to buy and sell things, and there wasn't anything he couldn't sell and turn around for a profit. He had many memorable years with his wife and family at his home on Milton Three Ponds, prior to moving to Rochester.
He is survived by his loving wife Donna Orell. Sons John Jr. Orrell & his wife Cyndi of Barrington and David Orrell and his partner Rosario Jermanez of Farmington, NH. Five grandchildren, Anadee Orrell of Tallahassee Fl., John & Jesse Orrell of Barrington, NH, Madison Orrell of Ogunquit, ME.,and Isabelle Orrell of Rochester, NH. A sister, Dorothy McKenna of Oregon, and Several nieces & nephews.
John is predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cornerstone VNA Hospice of Rochester, 178 Farmington Rd., Rochester, NH. 03867.
Services will be at Edgerley Funeral Home of Rochester NH. on Saturday, December 27, from 10:00am. — 12:00 noon. A celebration of life will follow at Tara Estates Hall, 53 Eagle Drive, Rochester NH.
