Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Funeral Homes - River Park from Apr. 29 to Apr. 30, 2025.
John Frank Orisich, Jr., 67, passed away at 1:05 pm on Monday, April 28, 2025, in Memorial Hospital. John's final act of generosity was to give the gift of sight as an eye donor, a testament to his enduring spirit of giving. Born on October 3, 1957, in South Bend, John was a man whose warmth and humor brought light into the lives of all who knew him.
John was preceded in death by his father, John F. Orisich, Sr., his sister, Cindy Orisich, his brothers-in-law, Bill Bassett and Richard Medeiros, and his mother-in-law, Adrienne DeBoe. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his loving wife, Tammy K. (DeBoe); devoted sons, Andrew (Shana Myers) Orisich and Nicholas R. Orisich (Katie Predd); his mother, Julie (Tirotta) Orisich; his caring siblings, Becky Bassett, Sue Fox, and Danny Orisich; his father-in-law, Emil DeBoe; his sister-in-law, Connie Medeiros; and numerous cherished nieces and nephews. John's grand-dogs and cats will also miss his affectionate presence.
For many years, John dedicated his professional life to serving as a warehouse supervisor for HVAC companies. His strong work ethic and leadership were recognized by all who worked alongside him. John's colleagues will remember him not only for his commitment to his role but also for the camaraderie and support he provided daily.
John was a man of many passions. He was an avid supporter of Notre Dame, the Cubs, and the Bears, embodying the spirit of a true sports enthusiast. His love for car racing, drag racing, and muscle cars was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his zest for life and the excitement he found in the roar of engines and the thrill of speed.
A spontaneous adventurer at heart, John relished the opportunity to explore without a set plan, often saying to Tammy, the best vacation was to simply pick a direction and go. This spontaneity was a testament to his love for the unexpected joys of life.
Those who knew John will fondly recall his great sense of humor. He had a unique way of connecting with people, often greeting them with affectionate nicknames like "kiddo" or "young lady." His ability to make others smile was one of his most endearing qualities.
John was not only a good friend and neighbor but also an excellent husband and father. His unwavering support and love for his family were the cornerstones of his life. He was a loving companion to his wife, whom he made laugh every day. He was a role model to his sons, teaching them the values of kindness, humor, and the importance of family.
As we remember John, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of laughter, love, and the simple pleasures that make life worth living. His memory will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
In the quiet moments, when the engines have stilled and the cheering crowds have faded, we will remember John Frank Orisich, Jr., not just for the life he lived, but for the love he left behind. Rest in peace, dear John; your legacy will endure in the hearts of all who loved you.
