John Philip Owens, of Covington, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024, at the age of 74. Phil was a member of the Covington Lions Club where he was a former president. He enjoyed woodworking, building, and working with flowers. In addition, Phil loved his dogs whom he shared a special bond with.
Survivors include his loving wife, Gail Owens; brother, Julian Theodore Owens, III “Ted” (Kathy); children, Justin Owens (Amy), Erin Owens Kimbrell (Trippe); grandchildren, Rylee Owens, Mason Owens, Ellis Kimbrell; step-children, Rod Richardson, Todd Richardson; grandchildren, Elizabeth Wasilewski, Leslie Carter (Nick), Lane Richardson (Jenny), Brett Richardson (Kristine), Ian Richardson; several great-grandchildren; nephews, Julian Theodore Owens, IV “Todd”, Chad Owens
A Funeral Service for Phil will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Randy Reese officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, two hours prior to his service, from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.
