Titusville, Florida, at the age of 73. Born on May 31, 1952, in Huntsville, Alabama, John's life was a testament to the love and joy he brought to everyone around him.
John's legacy is lovingly carried on by his devoted wife of 51 years, Joyce (Rudisill) Owens, who was his partner in every aspect of life. Together, they built a family and a world filled with love and adventure. His spirit will forever be cherished by his daughter, Emily Silva (Daniel), and his adored grandchildren, Logan, Blake, Declan, and Olivia, who will miss their grandfather's warmth and guidance. John's memory will also be honored by his brothers, Paul Owens (Karen) and David Owens, as well as his niece Alyson and nephew Ryan, who all held a special place in his heart.
After receiving his degree from the University of Alabama, John dedicated his professional life to helping others see the beauty of the world as an optometrist. His care and dedication to his patients were evident in the lasting relationships he built throughout his career until his well-deserved retirement.
John's passion for life extended beyond his professional work. He had an enduring love for music, which was a source of joy and solace throughout his life. John and his wife Joyce shared a love for marathon running, a pursuit that exemplified their shared dedication and teamwork. Their love of travel took them to many beautiful places, but they were especially fond of sailing in their sailboat to the Bahamas, where they created countless cherished memories.
