Tracy Knauer Obituary
Tracy was born on December 9, 1947, in Kokomo, IN, to Tracy K. Jr. and Louise (Hewitt) Knauer. He grew up and graduated high school in 1965 at Monmouth High School, Monmouth, IL.
He was class vice president and very active in sports, especially baseball.
Featured in a newspaper with the statement Monmouth's baseball team stuns Galesburg 8-7 in nine innings to win the Macomb regional. Smashed twice by Galesburg in the regular season, the Monmouth zippers win on sophomore Tracy Knauer's booming two run inside-the-park homer in the bottom of the ninth inning.
He attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL, and served with Vista in Homestead, FL.
He moved to west coast to San Francisco; then to Seattle, WA, where he enjoyed hiking and photography. He later moved to FL where he was closer to family as his health deteriorated.
He was preceded in death by his parents Tracy K Knauer, Jr. and Louise (Hewitt) Knauer.
He is survived by his siblings Evelyn Knauer Kness (Maury) Houston, TX; Peggy Knauer Ortery (Richard) Claremore, OK; David Knauer Warrington, PA; and Jeffrey Scott Knauer, Titusville, FL. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Mark Kness, Austin, TX; Melissa Kness Cooney (Robert) Telluride, CO; Brian Ortery (Mirtha) Tulsa, OK. He is also survived by his grand nieces and nephews Bobbie Cooney Fichman (Todd) Denver, CO, Robert Cooney Jr (Sierra) Columbus, IN, Tristan Blake Ortery, Lees Summit, MO, Tanner Ortery, Oklahoma City, OK Grace Ortery Harn (Christian), Claremore, OK; and Great grandnieces Tinley and Maggie Harn, Claremore, OK.
