John "JP" Michael Paris, 77, of Stevensville, passed away, Saturday, October 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
JP's Celebration of Life Service will take place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 12noon at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, St. Joseph. The family will begin receiving friends and family at 10 A.M. Those wishing to sign JP's Memory Book online may do so at www.starks.menchinger.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and Caring Circle Hospice.
JP was born May 30, 1948, in Claremont, NH, to George and Marjorie (Storer) Paris. He graduated from South Side High School, attended Purdue University, and entered the United States Navy. JP found the love of his life, Jacqualine "Sue" Stuerzenberger, and they married June 27, 1970, in Ft. Wayne, IN. They had two loving daughters, Lara and Brandi, whom they enjoyed raising. J.P. worked for the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant for over 30 years.
JP was preceded in death by his father – George Paris; mother – Marjorie Mellot; brothers and sister-in laws – George (Pat) Paris, William (Joan) Paris and Judy Paris. He is survived by his wife – Sue Paris; daughters – Lara (Norman) Crawford and Brandi (Kevin) Watts; grandchildren – Riley Watts, Jordan Watts, Mic Crawford and, Reece Crawford; brother - David Paris, and several nieces and nephews.
JP will be remembered for enjoying time camping with his wife and friends, and supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events. He was a Lakeshore softball assistant coach for 28 years, as well as, a volunteer for Lakeshore football and basketball events. Above all, JP's most cherished time was with his grandchildren, typically, surrounding a sporting event. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
