John Allen Parker became a ray of sunshine on October 21, 1941. He rode his horse for the last time on his way to heaven on September 16, 2024. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, father-in-law, friend, cowboy, fisherman, hunter, electrician, builder, teacher, and Green Beret, and a great patriot.
His parents, Bill and Victoria Allene Parker, and sister Willene preceded him in death! He is survived by his wife María Cecilia (Ceci), sons; William Dale Parker, Charles Allen Parker, grandchildren Christopher John Parker, Catherine Parker, great grandchildren Tre Parker, and Brett Parker; nephews Laurel King, Allen Foraker, Marshall Foraker and Victoria Foraker, a sister-in-law Olga Parker, and a daughter-in-law Alicia Parker. John attended grade school at Río Vista, and high school at South Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona.
After graduating from South Mountain, he joined the United States Army. While in the Army, John attended the following in 1964: United States Army Officer Candidate School, Jump Master courses, Unconventional Warfare, Civil Action and Phycological Warfare, Military Justice, Jungle School, and HALO School Altitude/Low Opening Jump. USASWS Special Forces Officer courses in 1965, and Maintenance Operations courses and College Business Administration in 1966.
As First Lieutenant in Viet Nam Special Forces Officer (Green Beret) was awarded many medals, and commendations: Combat Infantry Badge, Viet Nam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Parachutist Badge, and Sharpshooter Rifle and Expert 45 Pistol, Letter of appreciation, and Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal with Device 1960.
John was a hard worker and whose smarts and work ethics preceded him and was hired to work overseas, but he always loved to return to his beloved Arizona. Retired from Hillcrest Electric at 73 years of age due to the economy and that he was the only one supporting the company! He loved to team rope, hunt, and fish! Like John said "in whichever order, as long as it was roping, hunting, and fishing!"
A visitation will be held at 9:00AM, Saturday, October 12, 2024, located at The Corona Ranch and Rodeo Grounds, 7611 S 29th Ave, Laveen, Arizona 85339. The Funeral Service will begin at 10:00AM.

Johnny Parker...best dancer The Butler Girls ever knew! I was 19, a year older than Johnny. I came home after work and shopping to find him and a few "South" boys listening to music in our tiny living room...barely enough room to dance with my younger sisters, Pattee and Marsha. I carried in a pair of new low-boy riders from the Stockman Shop. Johnny grabbed the bag, ran into our bathroom and came out wearing MY riders. A snug fit, but he still got 'em on. He said, "No one can ever say I didn't get into Kay Butler's pants!" He told that story for decades. He was hilarious, interesting, strong, frustrating, smart, flirtatious...oh! flirtatious, and unforgettable.

Uncle Johnny was one of the few people in my life that I could totally and completely count on. My parents trusted him with their kids and that is enough to know the kind of person he was. He carried me through many airports in foreign countries when I couldn't walk, swam across piranha filled rivers on a bet, and many other memorable things. His smile was infectious and he will be missed.

I´ll always remember when Johnny would pay me a quarter to wrestle another kid in the neighborhood, in his parents front yard. He was always nice and most often smiling. I hadn´t seen him for many years as life has it but the memories are always pleasant. May God hold him and be with his family and friends in their time of grief.
