John C. Peed, 74, of Macon, GA, died at home on July 12, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born in 1950 in Albany, GA, to Imogene Jordan and John Joel Peed. He went to Lanier High School and then joined the Navy, where he served as a Machinist's Mate for 6 years. After leaving the military, John worked at the Georgia Department of Transportation for about 20 years before retiring in 2015.

John cared deeply about his family. He was a jack-of-all-trades but especially loved working on vehicles, and he taught his kids everything he knew. He was fascinated by genealogy, thoroughly researching his family tree and telling anyone he could about his ancestors.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Imogene Jordan and John Joel Peed. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia; his sister, Cindy Chapman (Mike); his sons, Jonathan, Jeremy, and Joel (Jessica); and his 5 grandchildren, Kathryn, Dylan, Caleb, Camden, & Taylor.

John's Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at the home of Bruce and Mary Beth Conn, 3442 Gray Highway. The service will be a casual gathering for family and friends, and lunch will be provided.
