If this is the same SFC Pelnar, that was my Tank Platoon Sergeant in 1977 I am saddened to hear of his departure.
I was a brand spanking new lieutenant and he took me under his wing, teaching me what was important and what was not so important.
I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1998 and credit him for the things that made me successful.
