John Perricelli

John Perricelli of Middletown, N.Y. passed away on April 21, 2024, at his home. He was 88.
John was born on September 29, 1935, and came to the US from Pentone, Italy, in 1953. His older brother
Vito brought him into his home in Niagara Falls and served as a father figure to the young man who lost his dad at the age of seven. His brother helped him get established in the new country and the kindness and generosity he experienced had a profound influence on his life.
In 1960 he went back to Italy and met his wife Felicita and brought her back to Niagara Falls. After working on the railroad and in a shingle factory, the couple moved to the Bronx for work opportunities and started a family.
They moved to Middletown in 1970 to buy a house, surrounded by friends and family from the old country.
John commuted to NYC for the next 26 years before retiring from Con Edison.
John and Felicita will always be remembered for sharing what they had. Whether it was saving a few
dollars so they could buy a house to donate to Crystal Run Village to use for their handicapped son and
other residents or opening their doors to any family members who also wanted to establish roots in America. Like his brother did for them, they tried to help as many people as they could.
Survivors include his sons Anthony Perricelli and his wife Kristen of Chester, N.Y. and John Perricelli and
Luigi Perricelli of Middletown, N.Y. His grandchildren Andrea Perricelli and Eric Perricelli and his nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years Felicita Perricelli and his son Phillip Perricelli.
Visitation hours will be held on Friday April 26, 2024, from 4-7 P.M. at the Martinez-Morse Funeral Home,
33 Railroad Ave., Middletown, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday April 27, 2024, at 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Church in Middletown, N.Y. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Middletown, N.Y.
