He graduated from St. Michael Catholic High School Class of 1956. He worked as a US postman and worked and retired from Chevy Metal Fabrication in 2000. On January 12, 1963, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Mikula, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flint. John was an avid collector of postage stamps and coins, and loved receiving postcards in the mail. He enjoyed all types of music, especially his Polka’s. His favorite pastimes included bird watching, doing puzzles, researching family history, and causing mischief, especially when it came to riling up his grandchildren, wife, and grand-dogs (Max, Rosy, and Beau). John was inquisitive, thoughtful, and a great listener. He loved to laugh, tell jokes and stories, and made sure everyone around him felt loved and appreciated. He will be greatly missed. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Ann, whom he lovingly referred to as “his bride;” son, John (Mary) Ploucha - Grandchildren Angela and Stephen (Hunter) - Great grandchildren Madalynn and Braylon; daughter, Carol Waggoner - Grandchildren Tess (Remington Prentice) and Sarah; son, Andrew Ploucha; sister-in-laws, Anne Ploucha, Evelyn Ploucha, and Helen Cella; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Charlie Eakes, Dave Cameron, Dicky Knight, Mike Warda, and Buck Steel. He was preceded in death by his brothers Raymond Ploucha and James Ploucha, sister Joan Vedock and brother-in-law Edward Vedock, and sister Mary Kassem and brother-in-law Mike Kassem.
