John Pratt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home - Miles City on Oct. 17, 2023.
John Edward "Eddie" Pratt, 86, born 11/05/1936 in West Plains, Mo passed away peacefully in Holy Rosary Hospital on 10/13/2023 in Miles City, Mt surrounded by family and friends.
Marvin and Eileen(Green) Pratt moved back to Montana where John and his siblings grew up. John met and married Marian Aker and from that union was born a son John (Mariya) Pratt Jr, Holden, MO. Later he and his wife parted ways and he met the love of his life Ann Leskovec and from that union 2 daughters, LaDawna (Joel) Ericksen, Forsyth, MT. Deborah (Dennis) Brewer, Miles City, MT and son James Pratt.
John and Ann moved to Iowa in 1966 and after a few years they went into business for themselves, 3F Roofing and the Cornu Cafe in Hansell, IA where they raised their children. They retired back to Miles City in 1992 to be with family and friends.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing (where he loved to compete as to who got the biggest or smallest fish-Winner was always based on what HE caught), traveling and spending time with his family. John was always up for a road trip (his girls always made sure he went with them whenever they were going somewhere)
His daughters will always remember him as the man to call when something needed to be fixed or was broken. Even after they knew how to do things themselves, he was always on call and willing to come help, no matter what time of the day it was or how far he needed to travel to rescue his girls.
John was preceded in death by both his parents, his in laws Frank and Fern (Drontle) Leskovec, his brothers, Wayne, Henry, Richard, and Joe and one sister Etta. His son James and Great granddaughter Jodien "Sissy" Dannen.
John is survived by his Wife Ann of 60 years, both daughters LaDawna and Debb, his son John JR, ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with one on the way. His brother Norman (Carol) Pratt, and sister Susan (Frank II) Leskovec along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family is planning a celebration of life at his home on Sunday 10/22/2023 from 2:00-4:00 pm so everyone can come and say their goodbyes.
