John A. Precopia, age 85, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the Wells Nursing Home in Johnstown, NY, surrounded by memories of a life well-lived.
Born on May 3, 1940, in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of the late John and Phyllis (Anadio) Precopia.
John's early years in Johnstown were filled with the close-knit bonds of family, and he carried that sense of kinship throughout his life. A man of quiet demeanor, John found his joy and freedom on the open road. His love for cars and motorcycles wasn't just a hobby; it was a testament to his adventurous spirit. Those lucky enough to cross paths with him will remember the sight of John riding his beloved motorcycle through the city. His introverted nature never overshadowed his ability to form lasting friendships.
He is survived by his siblings, Joseph (Janice), Joan Nickel (Skip), and James (Deborah) Precopia; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.
Interment will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown, NY.
