John Presnell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Manes Funeral Home Inc. - Newport on Jan. 21, 2026.
John Randall Presnell Sr., age 62, passed away on January 16, 2026, after a long battle with health issues, which he faced with strength.

Born on November 21, 1963, Randall was known for his hard work and determination. He loved the outdoors and felt deeply connected to nature, whether it be riding through the mountains of Tennessee or tearing up the swamps of Florida. He was fearless, strong-willed and always stood his ground. Above all, Randall was a wonderful father. He worked hard to provide and always made sure his family had what they needed.

Randall was preceded in death by his beloved son, J.R. Presnell, and his parents, Mark Presnell and Shelby Presnell, as well as several other cherished family members and friends who welcomed him home with open arms.

He is survived by his daughter, Shenna Presnell, and son-in-law, William, along with his four grandchildren, Julyssa, Markus, Jayden, and Matthew, who meant the world to him. He is also survived by his former wife, Delilah Presnell, the mother of his children, and her family, as well as his stepson, Leslie Flores, and his children, who were all dear to him. He also leaves behind his very loving brother, Chad Presnell; his niece, Chelsy Weaver, along with his three great nieces; his nephew, Travis Presnell; a loving aunt, Shirley Griffith; first cousins who grew up like brothers/sisters to him; sons-in-law family; and many other family members and friends who will cherish his memory and loved him deeply.

Also left to cherish Randall's memory is his loving girlfriend, Melinda Nelson, along with her daughters and grandchildren. Melinda stood by his side, sharing life, love, and companionship with him. She stood faithfully by his side throughout his illness, helping care for him and supporting him with love and devotion, even while managing her own health challenges. Her care, strength, and compassion are deeply appreciated and will never go unnoticed.

Randall was the life of the party, had a playful/pranking side, and loved sharing laughs. Those moments will never be forgotten. Beneath his toughness was a man who loved his family with his whole heart and would do anything for them. He fought a hard fight until the very end, showing strength in ways that inspired those around him. Thank you to all who helped him throughout his hard time.

Randall will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. Gone but not forgotten.
