John Frank Pujia, Jr., age 83, of Mt. Lebanon, was received into Heaven through the love of Jesus Christ on February 2, 2025.
Born on September 11, 1941 in Connellsville, he was the son of the late John Frank Pujia, Sr and Rheba (nee Tissue).
He was the beloved husband of Marcia (nee Roscoe) Pujia; loving father of Kristin (Alex) Dietrich, Greg (Tracy), Mike (Nicole) and Bob (Melissa); cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren, Mike, Caroline, Abby, Lexi, Jaden, Dante, Trinity, Cia, Clayton, Declan, Elliot, and Grace; dear brother of William (Debbie) Pujia; also survived by many nieces and nephews, Dawn, Bonnie, Rachel, Rebecca, Randy, Tammy, Lyle, Wyatt and Lisa.
A proud veteran of the US Army Reserves, John attained the rank of sharpshooter, exemplifying his discipline and commitment to service. He was always there for his family, coaching his sons' baseball teams with patience and enthusiasm, while also sharing cherished moments walking with his daughter.
A lifelong sports fan, John loved watching many of the local sports teams at all levels. For more than 50 years, he held a season ticket to Pittsburgh Steelers games, and his passion for local sports extended to his regular attendance at Pitt football and basketball games. He was a familiar face in the world of officiating, serving as a dedicated referee for high school and local college football and basketball games. His membership in the EAIFO and PIAA was a testament to his dedication to helping local kids succeed through sports.
John's love for sports didn't end with watching games-he was known for his unique ability to watch one game on TV while listening to another on the radio, sometimes enjoying 3 games at once. He was also an avid golfer, and on May 4th, 2010, he achieved the rare feat of scoring a hole-in-one on hole #2 at the Man O'War Course in Myrtle Beach, SC, a highlight he fondly remembered.
In addition to his love for sports, John was an active member of his church. He served as an usher and instilled the importance of faith in all four of his children. His steadfast belief in the power of God's Word shaped his life, and he made sure his family understood the value of attending church and growing spiritually.
John also had a deep appreciation for music, from all genres, and loved cooking. He delighted in preparing meals from his childhood experiences and sharing memories of those dishes with the ones he loved.
John's presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in our hearts.
Friends and family will be celebrating John's life on Saturday, February 8th at Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church. Gathering and sharing stories about John's life will be from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. A Service with Holy Communion will begin at 11 a.m. with a luncheon at the church immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church, 975 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15228.

To Greg and the entire Pujia Family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a great guy, and will surely be missed by all. We have so many fond memories of him coaching baseball with our Dad. With Mr. Pujia coaching first base and our Dad coaching third base, this is why they won so many games together.

Our deepest condolences to your family.
