In loving memory of John Matthew Quattrone, who peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and with the comfort of his faith. John was born on November 22, 1941, in Steubenville, OH and was a dedicated Catholic, having served as a deacon at St. Ann Catholic Church for over 18 years. His devotion to spreading the word of God extended beyond the church walls, as he regularly visited Drake Hospital to offer communion and blessings to those in need and provided final blessings at Gate of Heaven for bereaved families. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and respected member of the Cincinnati Community, touching the lives of many through his faith and kindness.
Throughout his life, John exemplified selflessness and care, always putting others before himself. As a devoted family man, he was a beloved husband of almost 60 years to his wife Mary Lynn Quattrone, a loving father of Frank Quattrone, John (Linda) Quattrone, and Lori (Dave) Taylor. Cherished grandfather of Jacob, Katy, Brooklynn, Ashlynn, Veronica, Tyler (Mckell), Megan (Eric), Morgan, Alex (Serena), Cody (Felicity), Roxy (Stephen), Zach (Sarah), Kelsey (Brad), and Kaitlyn (Hayden). Caring great-grandfather of Theodore, Amariah, Kalayah, Sebastian, Aria, Ginny, Kash and Berkeley. Dear brother-in-law of Marjorie (Tony) Lucas. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Carmella Quattrone, his sister Jo Ann Creegan, George Creegan and Joe Troesch. John also enjoyed strong bonds with his many cousins, nieces and nephews, always finding joy in family gatherings.
Known for his selflessness and caring nature, John always prioritized the well-being of others above his own. John's presence brought constant love and joy to his family. He found great joy in cooking, showcasing his culinary talents with signature dishes like homemade ravioli with meatballs, and Italian sausage. His talents were particularly highlighted during Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations, where he lovingly prepared the turkey and ham for his family gatherings.
In addition to his cooking skills, John had a talent for gardening, nurturing tomatoes, figs, and tulips around his home. His green thumb and love for nature were evident in the beauty he cultivated in his garden as he found immense joy tending to his garden and sharing its bounty with others.
John also possessed a spirit of adventure and exploration, embarking on annual trips to Marco Island, Hawaii, and Alaska with his friends and family. However, one of his most treasured memories was celebrating their anniversary at Epcot in Disney World (October 2024) with his adoring wife.
In remembrance of his life and legacy, a visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Road on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm where friends and family may gather to pay their respects. Following this, a Mass will be held at St. Ann Church on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 10:30 am, to celebrate John's life and offer prayers for his eternal peace. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the nald McDonald House, 341 Erkenbrecher Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45229, St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, or ch, 2900 W Galbraith Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45239.
John will be dearly missed by all who were privileged to know him. His kind heart, devout spirit, and unwavering love for his family and community will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. May his legacy of compassion and service live on in the hearts of all who mourn his passing.
