John Steven Ray

John Steven “Steve” Ray, 60, of Tipton, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, December 22, 2024. He was born on April 3, 1964, in Lexington, Missouri, to Johnny E. and Helen Louise (Watters) Ray, both of whom preceded him in death.

On June 21, 1986, Steve married Diana Rae Burlingame in Tipton, and she survives of the home.

Steve worked at Stride Rite and Modine. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, shooting pool, attending car shows, and participating in antique gas engine shows. He was also an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Steve is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diana; his daughter, Ashley Herrman (Jacob) of Independence; his son, Aaron Ray (Alleni) of Tipton; and five grandchildren: Branch Herrman, Luca Ray, Indee Ray, Landon Parker, and Harlow Worley. He is also survived by two sisters, Connie Arth and Vicky Jo Crose, both of Grain Valley, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his in-laws, Charles and Ruth Ann Burlingame, and a niece, Misty Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Tipton. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Tipton Masonic Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Aaron Ray, Luca Ray, Jacob Herrman, David Burlingame, Mike Burlingame, Skyler Jenkins, and Wyatt Euper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
