John Francis Rienhart

Resident of San Jose Our beloved Husband, Father, and friend, John Francis Rienhart, passed away on November 19, 2024. Born in Stockton, California, John led a fulfilling and impactful life. John graduated from St. Mary's High School and pursued higher education at the University of the Pacific, where he earned a degree in Mathematics. It was at the University of the Pacific where he met his future wife. They dated and later married on August 4, 1957, in a beautiful ceremony followed by a champagne dinner dance at the Stockton Hotel Ballroom. In 1958, John and his wife moved to San Jose, where he embarked on a distinguished career in education, furthering his studies and obtaining a master's degree from the University of Santa Clara. His dedication to teaching and his students left a lasting legacy. A devout Notre Dame football fan, John found his greatest joys in spending time with his family, particularly his cherished grandchildren. His life was a testament to love, dedication, and the importance of family. John is survived by his devoted sons, Mark (Kathy) and Craig (Melanie); his grandchildren: Kyla, Ryan, Nicholas, and Lauren Rienhart, Alyssa Ballentine; and his sister Joan, brother Don and 7 nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a service at 9:30 am on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Darling and Fischer, located at 471 E. Santa Clara Street, San Jose, CA 95112. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in San Jose. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that thoughtful donations be made to Saint Jude's Hospital, or a charity of your choice. John's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
