John Rispin Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 8, 2026.
John Rispin, age 75, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026.
John was born in Canton, Ohio, to Cyril and Shirley Rispin. He attended Perry High School and graduated with the Class of 1969. A few years after graduation, he was drafted during the Vietnam War era and served his country while stationed in Germany.
Following his military service, John moved to the Atlanta area in search of new opportunities. He began a long and dedicated career with BellSouth, where he worked until his retirement.
In the late 1970s, John built a home in Suwanee, Georgia, a place that would become central to his life and legacy. He was deeply involved in the community and played an instrumental role in shaping the city through his time, friendships, and service on the Planning and Zoning Committee.
John was widely admired for his vision, craftsmanship, and problem-solving abilities, particularly in construction projects. He also had a lifelong passion for restoring classic Volkswagen automobiles, a hobby that reflected both his patience and creativity. Above all, John was known for his people skills-his ability to form meaningful relationships, his generosity, and his constant willingness to help others.
A devoted father, John adored his two children, Luke and Laura. He spoke proudly of them often and always made them his top priority. John was a genuine, kind, and sweet man whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
A celebration of life will be held at John's home on January 17 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The gathering will be casual and drop-in, welcoming all who wish to stop by and share memories.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
