John A. Ritterbach, 77, of Fremont passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at ProMedica Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 4, 1947 to the late Clifford Kenneth and Satie Wave (Thompson) Ritterbach in Toledo, Ohio.

Upon graduation from Clay High School in Oregon, Ohio, John entered the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country from 1965-1969. Following his discharge from the military, John worked as an over-the-road truck driver. He has driven 18-wheelers over 4,000,000 miles and retired from Davidson Trucking in 2018. 

On June 2, 2010, he married Martie Brush and together have shared over 15 loving years of marriage. 

John was a member of the Fremont Church of the Nazarene as well as the Goldwing Riders Association and the American Motorcycle Association.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Martie; son, Anthony James Ritterbach of Monticello, KY; stepson, Michael Lauffer of Toledo, OH; stepdaughter, Cynthia; grandchildren, Amber Nicole and Kaylin Marie; great-grandchildren, Camilla Elaine, Flynn, Xavier, Ashura, and Jupiter; and siblings, James K. (Nancy) Ritterbach of Columbus, OH and Helen W. Johnson of Gold Canyon, AZ; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Kenneth and Satie Wave Ritterbach; son, Todd Allen Ritterbach; and brother, Stanley Joe Ritterbach.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:30-11:00AM at the Fremont Church of the Nazarene (1925 N. Fifth Street Fremont, Ohio 43420) on Thursday, September 4. Memorial services will begin at 11:00AM at the church.
