John Farrel "Tee" Roane passed away peacefully in his home on February 4th. He was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the son of the late Robert Lee Roane and Marie Farrell Roane.

Tee grew up in Jeanerette on Bayside Plantation, where his family roots ran deep, and he later raised his own family nearby. In more recent years, he made his home in New Iberia.

He served his country during the Korean Con ict, where his assignment focused less on combat and more on morale, tending bar for his fellow soldiers.

Tee graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (formerly Southern Louisiana Institute) with a degree in accounting. He had a long career in the Louisiana sugar industry, including roles with Albania Sugar and St. Mary Sugar Co-Op.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janelle McNeil Roane.

He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Roane Fitch and her husband, Dino Fitch; their sons, Seth Fitch, father of Vivian and Pierce; and Tyler Fitch and his wife, Courtney Fitch, parents of Collin and Gavin, and daughter Tate; his son, Lee Roane; and his husband, Jim Cordell. He is also survived by many extended family members and loved ones.

Tee enjoyed golf, listening to his favorite musicians, and spending time socializing with his wide circle of friends.

Tee will be remembered for his sharp wit, his love of telling stories, and his enjoyment of lively evening gatherings with friends at The Little River, The Yellow Bowl, and The St. John. His presence lled rooms with conversation and laughter, and those who shared time with him will remember him in stories told for years to come.

The family extends special thanks to his caregivers, Cynthia Porter and Tanya Sundberg, and to Judy Theriot for her unwavering support.

A celebration of Tee's life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends when arrangements are nalized.
