John Dewi Robinson, peacefully passed away on January 16th, 2024, in Boulder Community Hospital, Colorado.
Born to John Cooper Robinson and Lynne Jones on June 2nd, 1963, Dewi spent his early years in his hometown of Bridgend, Wales, where he attended Litchard Primary and Pencoed Comprehensive schools.
In 1987, Dewi married the love of his life, Kerry Thomson, and together they spent their life moving between Wales and the USA, finally settling in Colorado in 2012 with their daughter, Holly.
Dewi spent most of his career in the motorcycle industry, his true passion in life. Starting his own business “Rocky Mountain Cycles” in Talbot Green, Llantrisant, Wales, he grew the company to become the largest Trek bicycle store in the region. After working in motorcycle dealerships in the Denver Metro area, Dewi eventually settled at Rush Truck Centers of Colorado where he sold commercial trucks and loved it.
Dewi led a rich life full of adventure, which spoke to his love of the great outdoors. Whether riding on two wheels on road or dirt in Wales or Colorado or on foot hiking with his wife and golden retrievers in the Rocky Mountains, outdoors was where he was happiest.
Predeceased by his parents, Dewi will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband and father who cherished his family and extended family and friends in the UK and USA.
Dewi’s genuine warmth, wisdom, wit, and the joy he brought to life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His was a life well-lived cut short suddenly and far too soon.
