John Rodgers Obituary

John Dee Rodgers, 69, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025 in Lubbock, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, July 28, 2025 at Plainview First Assembly with Pastor Christina Sattesahn officiating in Plainview, Texas. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Agape Funeral Chapel and Crematory of Lubbock, Texas.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview, Texas.

John was born on April 14, 1956 in Plainview, Texas to JD and Wren Ella Rodgers. He grew up in Olton, Texas and graduated from Hart High School in Hart, Texas. John married Deeanna Holt on June 8, 1979. He was a welder and an electrician for many years. He served in the Army before having to be discharged early to take care of his daughter, Jonnita. John was a longtime member of Plainview First Assembly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, JD and Wren Ella Rodgers; his wife Deeanna Rodgers; two sons, Jason Rodgers, Kelly Pierce and one brother, Roy Rodgers.

John is survived by his daughter, Jonnita Parks of Abilene, Texas; one son, Jonathan Rodgers of Brownville, Texas; three siblings, Sharon Key of Lubbock, Texas, Rovena Romans of Gallatin, Tennessee, Chris Rodgers of Boerne, Texas and eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
