John Rouzee, 86

Celebration of Life service for John R. Rouzee age 86 will be held at a later date. John passed away on October 28, 2023. Memorials are suggested to the Wild Turkey Federation or Billie Rouzee to be designated later.

John Richard Rouzee, was born October 30, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to Czerny J. and Herma M. Rouzee. The family moved to Fremont, NE shortly after. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1954 and attended the University of Nebraska where he was affiliated with Phi Delta Theta fraternity. August 20, 1960 he married Willa M. (Billie) Prest in Boulder, CO. They moved to North Platte, NE in 1961. John was an outside salesman for many years, most of which he spent calling on schools. He also worked as a starter for many track meets throughout western Nebraska. He spent his last several years before retirement as an inspector with the Charitable Gaming Division of the state of Nebraska. John was a Jr. All-American trap shooter and loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed many family activities over the years including the annual Rouzee hunt with his children and their families, and Rouzee day at the horse races.

Survivors include his wife Billie, sons David (Diane) of Grand Island, NE and Tim (Stephanie) of Parker, CO, a daughter Kelly (Kevin) Kasselder of Ericson, NE; sister-in-law Fran Rouzee of Lincoln, NE; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren with two more on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother David.
