John Edward Rowland, 64, of Liverpool, passed away January 27, 2026. John was born in Ilion, New York, on May 26, 1961, to Edward and Nancy Rowland.
After high school, John served 4 years in the US Army. John retired after 30+ years with the NYS Thruway as a mechanic. He was actively involved in animal rescue, helping to save numerous cats over the years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hiking, spending time at Lake Ontario, and taking care of his beloved cats. He enjoyed new adventures and trying new foods with his wife.
He is survived by his Spouse of 20 years, Christine Rowland, Sister, Kathy (Gary) Bonner, Half Sister, Mickie (Robert) Smith; Daughter, Kelly Rowland; Son, Adam (Megan) Rowland; Niece, Sarah Bonner; Step Daughters, Jennifer (Kyle) Schuch, Erin Faunce; and nine Grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 9am to 11am at New Comer Cremations& Funerals, 705 North Main, North Syracuse NY 13212. Funeral service to follow immediately at 11am. Interment will be at Pine Plains Cemetery at 12pm for anyone who would like to attend.
