John Roy Obituary
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Clement Roy; children, Jake O. Roy (Melissa), Jennifer "Jenny" R. Marceaux (Francis), Jamie Roy-Daigle (Jacob), Joanie Roy Naquin (Scott), and Abbie Roy Whittington; grandchildren, Mason Roy, Jada Roy Parker (Justin), Justin Marceaux, Brooke Marceaux, and Emily Naquin; great-grandchild, Ellie Jade Parker; siblings, Sterling Roy (Ginger) and Shirley Roy Ohmer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Roy and Edna "Tootsie" Comeaux Roy; and siblings, Rita Henry Roy, Onealia Henry Ragin, Adam Henry, Oliver Joseph Roy, Howard Roy, and Earl Roy.
Johnny enjoyed "The Ride", hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He was a Diesel Mechanic for over 50 years, and was the owner of Johnny's Engine and Equipment Service. Johnny was a proud member of The Jerusalem Shrine Temple and Houma Shriners Hospital. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Samart Funeral Home on West Park from 4:00 pm till 10:00 pm. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg from 9:00 am until the Memorial Mass at 11:00 am.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes during this time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made towards The Jerusalem Shrine Transportation Unit and to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Johnny's name and memory.
