John D. Schuh
November 18th, 1940 – June 14th, 2024
John D. Schuh, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on November 18, 1940, in Lackawanna, New York, John lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love for his family.
John proudly served in the United States Navy, where he spent time serving on the USS Bremerton. His time in the Navy shaped him into the strong, principled man his family admired and respected.
John is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Schuh, who was his partner and confidante during their many years of marriage. He is also survived by his sister Patty Schaefer, brother Marty Gyalog, his four children Doug, Eric, Kevin, and Krista, and two stepchildren Mark, and Angie. His legacy continues through his 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
John's life was a testament to the values of family, service, and integrity. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, July 5th, from 5pm – 7pm, at 158 E. Main St., at the Carlton American Legion Post 173. We invite all friends and family to gather to honor and remember the remarkable life he had. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.
