John Sheets

John Robert Sheets, 64, passed away on October 26, 2025 at Great Plains Health in North Platte, NE.
John was born on October 15, 1961 in North Platte, NE to parents Robert and Ardith (Nansel) Sheets.
John attended Garfield country School, Arnold School, Brady High School, and Mid Plains Community College where he received an associate degree.
He lived at Garfield Table, Brady, Gothenburg and surrounding areas, where he worked with cattle as a stock manager for many years, most recently for Wally and Sally Trimble.
He enjoyed rodeoing, was the President of the Pony Express Rodeo Club, loved horses, raising cattle, and had many faithful and good dogs. John left a legacy of well built fences in the pasture "hills" south of Brady.
John was baptized at Garfield Church, and was a member of the Brady Methodist Church. John married the love of his life Jean Johnson on November 27, 1993 in Brady.
John is survived by his wife, Jean, his brothers, Mike (Heidi) Sheets, of North Platte, NE, Chris (Sandra) Sheets of Castle Rock, CO; Clint Sheets (Christy) Sheets of Wallace, NE; sisters, Patty (Ike) Miller of North Platte, NE, Joyce (Rick) Buhlke of Juniata, NE; sister-in-law, Laurie Clark of Gothenburg, NE; step-brother, Rick (Coleen) Clark of Gothenburg, NE, Susan (Randy) Schroeder of Gibbon, NE, brothers-in-law, Steve (Sue) Johnson of Brady, NE; Rocky (Lynne) Johnson of Brady, NE; and many extended family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ardith, step-father, Dale Clark, step-brother, Jeff Clark, father-in-law, Wayne Johnson, and brother-in-law, Mike Johnson.
Celebration of Life will be held, 11:00 AM, Monday, November 3, 2025, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 10th St, Gothenburg, NE with Jake Fairley officiating.
