Lynsy Rae Herndon

Lynsy Rae Herndon, 36, of Gothenburg passed away on November 1, 2025 as the result of an auto accident east of Gothenburg, NE.
Lynsy was born on September 1, 1989 in Gothenburg, NE to Joe and Patti (Mach) Herndon. She attended school in Gothenburg graduating with the class of 2008. She went on to study at Central Community College where she obtained an Associates degree in 2011. Lynsy spent her entire life in Gothenburg with the exception of a brief period in Kearney and Colorado.
Lynsy enjoyed making cinnamon pickles and all sorts of different jams and would sell them any chance she had. She had a special gift of helping others in any way she could. Additionally, Lynsy attended Cornerstone Bible Church. Her best friends where her two schnauzers, Saphire and Maddie, but the most important thing to Lynsy was her family. She loved her family feverously and would always brag on her brothers and nephews any chance she had.
Lynsy loved Jesus, she loved like Jesus and she would want all of her earthly friends to be in heaven with her one day. Lynsy would want all of her friends to build a relationship with Jesus so that one day they can be together again in paradise. She had a bold faith and she would want others to have that faith also.
Preceded in death by her grandparents Art and Velna Herndon and Frank and Jeanette Mach.
Lynsy is survived by her parents Joe Herndon and Patti Herndon both of Gothenburg; two brothers Jason Mach of Lincoln and Bret Herndon of Omaha, three nephews Aidan and Keaton Mach of Lincoln and William Herndon of Omaha; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00am, Friday, November 7, 2025 at Cornerstone Bible Church in Gothenburg, with Pastor Scott Newman officiating.
Burial will follow at Moorefield Cemetery in Moorefield, NE.
