John Sherman Obituary

John William Sherman, 74, Jefferson, Georgia, entered rest Monday, July 14, 2025.

Mr. Sherman was born in Washington, Missouri, the son of the late Chester Sherman and the late Marseda Sauders Sherman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Katherine Helfrich Sherman.

Mr. Sherman worked as a truck driver for Saia Trucking Company. He loved old cars, drag racing and guns. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include daughter, Carrie Woodward (Gary), Jefferson, Georgia; two sons, Matthew Sherman and Adam Sherman, both of Atlanta, Georgia; five grandchildren, Carson Woodward and Olivia Woodward, both of Jefferson, Georgia, Tristan Sherman, Dahlonega, Georgia, Kathryn Sherman and Kellan Sherman, both of Jacksonville, Florida.

In accordance with Mr. Sherman's wishes, he will be cremated and memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 31, at the New Life Church, 408 East Main Street, Washington, Missouri 63090.

The Sherman family was served by Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, Georgia.
