1949 - 2026
John R. Sloan, 76, Pierz, MN, formerly of Coleraine, MN died Thursday, March 5, 2026, in St. Cloud.
Born September 7, 1949, in Grand Rapids, he was the son of John J. and Jane (Oconnell) Sloan. John was a 1967 graduate of Greenway High school and a graduate of St. John's University at Collegeville, MN. John and Hope "Bunny" Bennett were married on May 10, 1975, in Brainerd, MN. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard, had been a member of the Deer River American Legion, and was a computer programmer.
His parents, John and Jane Sloan, and a stepdaughter, Kathy preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, "Bunny;" stepson, Mike (Elizabeth) McDonald; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and siblings, Tom, Jim, and Rob Sloan and Sandra Covak.
At John's request, there will be no services. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Coleraine.

I spent many memorable days with John and his family growing up together in Coleraine. He and Bunny were inseparable. You never saw one without the other. He will be missed. Love cousin Kathleen (Riley) Card.
