John T. Smith, 82, of Wooster, died Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Smithville Western Care Center.
John was born November 3, 1940 in East Liverpool to Richard and Loretta {Sullivan} Smith.
He married Betty Smith on August 8, 1959. She died on June 8, 2015.
He worked for Gilbert Lumber Co. in Smithville before retiring after 41 years. John enjoyed making cookies and spending time with his friends and family. He always enjoyed making people smile.
John will be deeply missed by his children Lisa (Scott) Keener, Chris (Ron) Lukezic; son-in-law Owen (Susie) Hostetler; grandchildren Jason (Sara Jo) Hostetler, Seth (Sarah) Hostetler, Kyle (Brittney) Keener and Jared (Melissa) Keener, Jonny (Tracey) Pertee and Tyler (Brooke) Pertee, Alex (Cassie) Lukezic, Ronnie Lukezic, and Christine (Jonny) Lipovsky; 16.5 great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 55 years, daughter Lori Hostetler, and sister Robin.
Services will be private at Roberts Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
