Judith Simmons Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services - Brunswick on Mar. 12, 2026.
SIMMONS, JUDITH "Judy" A. 84, passed away suddenly from a brief illness at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital on March 11th, 2026. She was born in Mansfield, Ohio on July 24th, 1941, to Floyd and Pauline Strohminger (both passed). In her early childhood years Judy quit school during 10th grade to help her mom at home take care of her younger siblings. Later in life, she went on and got married, raising five beautiful children.

In 1975, she became an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary, V.F.W. Post 9520 Brunswick, Ohio, where after 50 years, she became a Lifetime Member. Judy always had a smile on her face, even just the littlest joke would make her laugh to the point of tearing. She enjoyed bowling, watching TV, especially Mr."Pimple" Popper, always enjoyed spending time with her family, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, but most of all she loved getting her large caramel frappe with extra caramel drizzle from McD's at least 2-3 times a week or whenever the family brings one.

Judy was preceded in death by her late husband James "Ed" Simmons, her daughter Lori (Bayless) Connock, both parents, grandparents, and siblings Linda Rodriguez, Patty Blank, Fred Strohminger, and her closest little brother terry Strohminger.

She is survived by her sons, Arthur Bayless(Wooster, Ohio), Bill Bayless (Seville, Ohio) Harry Bayless(Felix Otero) (Lorain, Ohio), daughter Paula Bayless (David Allen) of Shreve, Ohio, and son-in-law Danny(Lori-passed) Connock. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In memory of Judy, family would like everyone to try and come with a caramel frappe with extra caramel drizzle. Family would like to extend their gratuity to Townview Terrace Wooster, Ohio Wooster Community Hospital, and especially Cleveland Clinic Akron General for all their love and passionate care.

A visitation will be held at Carlson Funeral Home in Brunswick, Ohio (1642 Pearl Road, Brunswick Ohio 44212) on Sunday, March 15th, from 3pm to 6pm. Funeral service will take place on Monday, March 16th, at 11am with burial to follow.
