John Calvin Snead

Mr. John Calvin Snead of Archdale left this life for life everlasting on September 22, 2025. He was born on May 28, 1926 in Moore County, NC to Daniel and Maggie May Snead. John had 3 sisters, all of whom preceded him in death.

John served in the army during WWII and served in France, Germany, and Austria. After the war John had a successful career as a barber.

In 1950 John married Charlotte Johnson, who passed away in 2017. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Cheryl Traylor (Garret), son, Eric Snead (Julie), and grandchildren Kelby Snead, Susannah Burley, Josh Dycus, Casey Dycus, and Ashlynn Snead.

John was a faithful member of Archdale United Methodist Church. He was a member of the choir, the Friendship Class, and the Methodist Men.

A memorial service for John's life will be held on October 4, 2025, at 2:00 at Archdale Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. Visitation will take place from 1:00–1:30 in the church sanctuary.
