Marcus Riffe Obituary
Mark has now been fully healed and is home with his Lord and all those who have gone before him. A man of deep faith, he attended Caraway Baptist Church and proudly served his country as a Military Police officer in the U.S. Army.
Mark was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was known for his generous heart and unwavering loyalty-always going above and beyond for those he loved. He deeply valued time with family and friends, often reminding them with a smile, "I love you better than a cat loves sweet milk."
He enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, and especially golf-whether playing on the course or watching tournaments on TV when he was no longer able to play. He also had a passion for crime-based movies and true crime television shows.
Mark was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandparents, Granville and Louise Cooper Riffe, with whom he spent much of his childhood; his mother, Juanita Riffe; and his youngest brother, Ricky Dean Hagy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Kinley Riffe of the home; sons, Devin Riffe (Tonya) and Darren Riffe, both of Archdale; and cherished grandchildren: Dillion, Dawson, Dahia, Kaylee, Rebecca, Madison, Madalynn, and Mabry. He also leaves behind his brother, Luke Proffit of Asheboro; sister, Sheila Keaton (Rick) of Sophia, NC; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished deeply.
Mark was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Archdale Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, with Pastor Gary Riffe officiating. Committal will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Mark's honor.
