Lexington – Carolyn Elizabeth King Gant, 83

Carolyn Elizabeth King Gant passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born on October 23, 1941, in Randleman, NC, she was the daughter of the late John King and Edna Langley King. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Gant (2021), and her brothers JC King, Billy King, Ray King, and Charles King.

Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who cherished time with family and found joy in life's simple moments. She shared a lifelong love of Elvis Presley with her husband, Bill-his music brought them comfort, happiness, and many fond memories.

She is survived by her sons, Dean Gant (Amy) of Lexington and Dale Gant (Joan) of Denver, NC; her sister, Linda Ann Evers (Ed); and grandchildren: Devin Gant, Ridge Gant, Dawson Gant, Kyle Shina, Cole Shina, and Cody Shina. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 206 Trindale Road in Archdale. A funeral service will follow in the Chapel, led by Pastor Bill Harwell, with burial at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Carolyn's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
